Why Should we Reuse, Reduce and Recycle

Reducing, Reusing and recycling waste are the best ways to encourage environmental sustainability. These are little strategy yet creative to protect the environment. People, kids, societies and office employees are asked to recycle, reuse and reduce waste. Some of them (especially kids) have one question in common. Why Should I reuse, Reduce and recycle? Here is why you should-

Saves Natural Resources- Our planet’s natural resources are limited. Thus, it is very important to save natural resources at this point and in upcoming years. According to the US Environmental Protection Agency, recycling 1 tons of paper could save up to 17 trees and 7000 gallons of water. If you have daily use of paper work, you can recycle them even if you can’t reduce.

Reduce Greenhouse Red Emissions- During the process of mining, refining and manufacturing, a large portion of energy is consumed. This is all because of burning fossil fuels. According to recent research, recycling half of the household recyclable waste can save 2400 pounds of carbon dioxide from being released into the atmosphere

Saves money- Huge amount of energy is required to manufacture product and goods. Energy can not be saved by using products or manufacturing them. It comes from using the products which are recycled instead of making new one.

Reduce Landfill Space- This is one of the best reasons why you should reuse, recycle and reduce waste. Reusing, reducing and recycling waste can actually reduce your contribution to the landfills. Did you know that Americans generate more than 250 million tons of Waste annually. By Following these 3 R’s you can actually reduce your contribution to the landfills.

Creates Sustainable future- By creating and implementing effective 3Rs practices can bring up more sustainable future. 

Reduce-If you can’t recycle, reuse, then you can initiate with a great start by reducing the waste you could generate. There are several things you can do-

1. Say NO to Plastic Shopping bags and use tote bags

2. Avoid Paper and its byproducts like dinner plates, supply cups etc.

3. Choose packaging that does not generate excess waste in future.

Recycle-
You have hundreds of plastic bottles piled in your house and you have no other way than to throw them off. In such cases, Recycling is something to be followed in this situation. To make America a waste free country it i would be a great initiative by recycling plastic waste.Not only plastic items, Used Branded items, swag, Promotional products like cups,mugs, and pens generate wastes when thrown into trash. If you cannot then there are many recycling centers in the USA like SwagCycle which aims to keep the waste out of landfills. They come to your area, takes waste, recycle or donate them in an ethical and affordable way.

Reuse- Nothing can be more creative than reusing the items and keeping them out of landfills. Involve kids in this activity and try to make creative things with used materials. You can make water cans with detergent powder plastic bottles, Make supply cups for your kids etc.
